The 40th RDA Workshop will be hosted in Cologne from 29th – 31st July 2014. Otokar, the oldest Turkish bus and coach manufacturer, will be using the occasion to highlight its presence in Germany with news of the expansion of its German organisation as well as a luxuriously equipped new VIP model. Otokar will present two coaches from its range at the exhibition, both of which are equipped with the latest Euro 6 engines.
Otokar in Germany
The Turkish bus manufacturer Otokar has already made a strong impression on the German market, particularly with its small and midi buses.
In December 2013, Otokar delivered the first six of its Euro-VI Vectio C models, which were approved in Lauf an der Pegnitz. In January 2014, the Kent C was added, with capacity for 104 passengers. Plans for Germany include the addition of another 12-metre bus, a 10-metre coach and a 13-metre intercity bus to the range. An articulated bus will be added in 2016. “Our goal is to reach an extensive product range by in 2017, with the right bus for every application,” says Ali Murat Atlas, President of Otokar Europe.
Otokar buses are manufactured at the company’s plant in Sakarya and are currently being used in over 30 countries on four continents. 250 Otokar buses are in service in Germany, and the number is rising.
