On the 10th of September Otokar Europe has realised the third and final fleet delivery of 62 units to Malta, bringing total of Otokar new midi-buses up to 142 on the island.
The 142 Vectio C RHD are operated by Malta Public Transport (MTP).
Since the first deliveries beginning of July, Otokar buses were put into service on the island, increasing the overall performance of the network for the summer period, busy with many tourists.
By the arrival of compact and environment friendly Vectio, Malta Public Transport will cover an added 23 000km a week. This will bring a more efficient service and increase passenger's satisfaction.
Thanks to these new compact and environment friendly and vehicles, Malta Public Transport plans to open new routes within September.
VECTIO C RHD OF MTP
The Vectio C RHD specifically designed for the Maltese road conditions, is 9.6 metre, medium-size bus.
It is simple and functional with a low entry structure, a double flap inward swinging doors at the front with wheelchair ramp, and a single flap central door. The state-of-the-art integral structure is durable and lightweight, keeping operating costs low.
Vectio C is equipped with surveillance system. An efficient AC is fitted specifically on this bus for warm days of summer in Malta.
Independent front suspension and automatic transmission provide also comfort during long drives. Its excellent manoeuvrability is a key point for certain Maltese routes.
Vectio C has a Euro 6 engine which sets the latest standard for environmentally friendly transport.
