Otokar, the biggest privately owned company of Turkish Defence Industry, presented its wheeled armoured vehicle ARMA 8x8 and its medium caliber remote controlled turret (RCT) system MIZRAK at one of the Europe's largest fully integrated international defence exhibition featuring land, sea and air products and technologies exhibition in London, DSEI, between 15th and 18th September.
Otokar, the main supplier of the Turkish Military and Security Forces for wheeled tactical vehicles, participated in the DSEI 2015, exhibiting its ARMA 8x8 wheeled armoured vehicle with MIZRAK-30 medium caliber remote controlled turret (RCT) system at its stand in Turkish Pavillion N9-150.
As a Koc Group company - Turkey's biggest conglomerate, Otokar designs and manufactures various kinds of tactical wheeled and tracked armoured vehicles and turret systems for the defence industry. With a vast range of armoured tactical vehicles from 3 / 4 tonnes to 65 tonnes in both wheeled & tracked, Otokar tactical armoured vehicles are operating under many different geographical and extreme climate conditions in the world and their combat capabilities are proven in the real combat situations in high risk areas. Today, Otokar military vehicles are globally deployed in various operations under UN and NATO flags. Otokar is also the prime contractor of Turkey's largest land systems program, Altay Turkish National Main Battle Tank Project.
ARMA: New generation modular 8x8 wheeled armoured vehicle
Otokar presented ARMA 8x8 in DSEI; the new generation modular multi-wheeled vehicle with superior tactical and technical features. Thanks to its superior mobility, high mine and ballistic protection, medium and high caliber weapon system integration options; ARMA is capable to serve modern armies in the real battlefield, peace keeping and human relief operations in most difficult terrain and climatic conditions. ARMA 8x8; is available in various types of configurations such as Personnel Carrier, Infantry Fighting Vehicle, Fire Support Vehicle, Mortar Carrier, Short and Medium Range Air Defence, Mobile Gun Carrier, Command and Control Vehicle with optional amphibious capability. ARMA is suitable for integration of various weapon systems from light machine gun weapon stations up to 25-30 mm medium caliber cannon and 105 mm cannon. ARMA 8x8 exhibited at DSEI has a 26,000 kg combat weight and is capable of carrying 13 people including the driver and the commander and is C-130 air transportable in standard configuration.
MIZRAK Medium Caliber Remote Controlled Turret (RCT) System
Otokar also presented remote controlled turret system MIZRAK-30 designed in 2011. It is controlled by a gunner and a commander seated inside the vehicle under armour. Armour piercing, high explosive and all other types of ammunition available for the cannon can be fired. Mızrak-30 has the latest generatıon digital fire control system architecture having dual-axes independently stabilized commander and gunner sights utilized with highest performance cooled thermal camera, CCD camera and laser range finder as the payload and target tracking function.
