Akrep is a special attack/defense vehicle developed on well proven mechanical parts and day/night vision and aiming systems. With its 4x4 drive and tactical characteristics, it can serve in all terrain conditions.

It is an optimized solution for missions such as convoy protection, safeguarding of strategic areas and border control.

Mobility

Akrep is light in weight, fast moving and extremely maneuverable. Its high Power/Weight ratio and long travel suspension ensure mobility not only in urban conditions but also over all types of terrain in all weather conditions. With its compact dimensions and low weight, Akrep has capability of high mobility in even very narrow streets.

Akrep's rugged design, using well proven off-road vehicle components available worldwide and its ease of maintenance ensure an enviable level of reliability.

Survivability

Akrep's low profile, ballistic hull design and special armor protection and renowned agility are all designed to maximize its ability to survive in high treat environments. Each armor plate is laboratory tested and certified. Each panel is stamped prior to production and fully traceable.

Logistics

All mechanical parts of Akrep are of proven , commercially off the shelf components which maintains easy logistic support. These parts are well proven for their reliability, availability and low maintenance requirements. All systems can rapidly be controlled and maintained.

  • Otokar to Exhibit its Armoured Vehicles Range at IDEX

    Otokar, the biggest privately owned company of Turkish defence industry, presents its 4x4, 6x6 and 8x8 armoured vehicles range at the IDEX show in Abu Dhabi, UAE, between 17th and 21st February. Otokar displays ARMA 8x8, KAYA II mine resistant troop carrier and MIZRAK remote controlled turret system for the first time in the Gulf Region.

    Turkish leading and largest privately owned tactical vehicles manufacturer Otokar has been awarded a $63.2 million contract for its new 6x6 tactical armoured vehicle ARMA. Deliveries are scheduled to be in 2012 and Otokar will provide spare parts and training under the contract requirements.
